The Sison culture is best experienced in events and festival that highlight, just like what Filipinos are passionate about— faith, love for the homeland, family, lovely women, and festive celebrations. The celebrated Kapayawan Festival is the official name of the festival of the municipality. It demonstrates the prominence of the most staple food called “Payaw” that feeds the constituents of the municipality during World War II. It is also a delicacy that most people here make it as the main ingredients in their own recipes, such as Payaw Tart, Payaw- Buko Pie, Payaw Lidgid (As shown in the pictures above) and several more.
